Abstract: This presentation shares the results of a grant that helps prepare teachers to develop their own videos to support real-world math and science learning. This work builds off of Dan Meyer’s TED talk and development of 3-act videos to support transforming math lessons. This approach centers on what is missing in many math and science classes today; the opportunity for students to develop their own questions and plan their own solutions. This presentation shares the 3-act videos created by teachers and their students in grades 4-6 (http://www.masteringvideosgrant.com), the process to develop them, and the results of their impact on teachers and students.
