The relationship between emotional intelligence and students' achievement for grade 12 studies in Oman

Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and academic achievement among students in the twelfth grade in the governorate of Muscat and to identify the differences between males and females in the level of emotional intelligence according to their academic achievement. To accomplish the aims of this study , the researcher analyzed the literature theory on emotional intelligence and its impact on academic achievement, and made questionnaire consisting of (15) items with being sure of its sincerity and firmness. The study sample consisted of 60 students from the twelfth-grade students distributed in the schools of the study area in the governorate of Muscat, which has been selected a sample intentionality and has statistical treatment of the data using arithmetic averages and standard deviations, t test and analysis of variance. The results also showed that the level of emotional intelligence among students is high and in favor of females.
