Abstract: Providing high-quality clinical experiences for preservice teachers is a continual challenge for teacher preparation programs. The situation can be complicated greatly for non-traditional preservice teachers, who face challenges related to jobs and families as they complete teacher education programs. SimSchool, a game-style computer simulation offers one solution for all of these challenges in providing quality clinical experiences to preservice teachers in many types of programs. In this paper we describe how SimSchool is being used to help solve logistical and curricular challenges for providing appropriate clinical experiences in a Master of Arts in Teaching program at a small private university.
