Abstract: As contemporary U.S. schools continue to evolve in their evaluation and inclusion of mobile phones as learning tools, it becomes increasingly necessary to better understand the strengths and limitations of these devices in classroom settings. To this end, the teacher educators in this project were asked to develop a mobile phone pilot program to train teachers on the use of mobile phones and apps at a progressive private school located in India. The leader of this private school, Dr. Pavan Podar, sought out the researchers to organize and implement a series of training sessions to offer teachers professional development to help them successfully utilize mobile phones in classroom instruction. Thus, a mobile phone pilot program began in early spring of 2015. This panel will discuss the process used, successes and challenges.
