Abstract: This paper presentation will describe a study about the adoption of mobile devices (iPads) into the context of a preservice community of STEM teachers and learners. It explores current literature and the potential of iPads to support undergraduate teacher education students when engaging in both coursework and informal learning through their involvement in a local science museum. In addition, the study sought to understand how undergraduate teacher education students might draw on technology in different ways after engaging with iPads as their main productivity device, bridging the realm of theory and practice.
