Abstract: Maker education has primarily focused on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) classes. Social studies can be a thread that draws everything together, but often seems overlooked when it comes to hands-on technological activities involving consumer electronics. This study explores what students might do when given opportunities to implement maker principles in a social studies classroom.
