Rapid Learning Instructional Design Programming: Applying Multimedia and Media Effects Principles
Abstract: Use of rapid learning computer programming tools has become more prevalent in organizations where scalable training and instruction are an expectation of the organization. With this wide use of rapid learning programming tools, novices to the field of educational instruction have become the users of these instructional tools with the expectation of providing effective learning experiences. While the tools may have become more accessible and user friendly in the evolution (Frey & Sutton, 2010), the use of these tools for effective instructional design has not necessarily followed suit. Through application of multimedia learning theory, multimedia instructional design principles and psychological theories related to attenuation and emotional response, this report will provide a guide so that the novice can design effective multimedia educational material for the goal of successful achievement of learning outcomes.
