Abstract: Literature is an authentic resource that can be the foundation of a literacy program, as well as a major resource for other curriculum areas. This presentation will explore some effective ways of coaching preservice teachers to select high quality children’s literature that can serve classrooms with diverse student populations, also presenters will share strategies that help preservice teachers examine authenticity of the children’s books.
