Share Paper: Using the iPad to Promote Student Learning

Abstract: This workshop begins with a brief discussion of three questions that are essential for teachers to understand before using an iPad for instruction. First, the question will be asked, “What is an iPad?” Is it a computer, an expensive toy or something else? Second, “Why should it be used in the classroom?” Research has shown that it is an engaging device for promoting learning. The final question asks, “How can the iPad be used, whether you have only one iPad, a collection of iPads or a 1-to-1 classroom?” Topics have value for both teachers and administrators.
