Abstract: Do you want to engage students and enhance your classroom using technology? Are group projects part of your curriculum? Are your students bored with your lesson plans? Web 2.0 tools have become everyday tools in the lives of our students. They are constantly “connected” via mobile phones, tablets, and other devices. Why not use these tools to increase learning and engagement in the classroom? This workshop will demonstrate a variety of Web 2.0 tools including Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Slides; EduCanon; Nearpod; Social Media platforms and more.

My name is Julie Ward and I am an Assistant Professor in the Curriculum and Instruction Department at Tarleton State University. I teach courses in the Instructional Design and Technology program and also coordinate technology labs for undergraduate students working on teacher certification. I have over thirteen years of experience in PK-12 schools, including experience as a Library/Media Specialist and as an Instructional Technology Coordinator. I am currently completing my doctoral degree in Educational Leadership. I have conducted numerous student, teacher, and administrator technology trainings at all grade levels and content areas. I successfully completed the Google Apps Education Individual Qualification exams and was part of a Google Apps for Education (GAFE) School, where I conducted trainings on a regular basis.Topics
