Abstract: Social media present an important part of millennials’ digital lives. And while there is plenty of research about this demographic’s SNS use, we have very limited information about how they perceive its usefulness for educational purposes. Given this gap in the literature, the main objective of this study is to enhance our understanding of the way today’s college students perceive the utility of SNS to support their studies. The study utilizes a mixed-method approach and a sample of students attending classes at a midsize Midwestern university in 2015. The authors will share the results from an online survey with 320 respondents and 75 diaries.
