Abstract: The ubiquity of mobile devices and the boom of the social media experience has impacted all aspects of human life. Most learners own at least one smart device and a social media account. Research has shown that these can be leveraged to improve student retention, achievement and reaching differentiated learning needs (Kukulska-Hulme et al., 2005). Squire and Dikkers (2012) also found that the affordances of mobile media amongst youth resulted in the amplification of interest, self, social networks and learning.
