Teaching Asset-Based Math Lessons Using Technology to Young Learners
Abstract: The purpose of this poster presentation is to share the experiences of two teacher candidates participating in a technology-focused inquiry study at a large research university. The central focus for this study was to investigate how to discover students’ assets and intentionally incorporate them into technology-supported primary mathematics lessons. As a result of this process, the teacher candidates developed a foundational understanding of students’ assets and experienced the benefits of incorporating these assets into engaging and developmentally appropriate technology-focused math lessons.
