Digital Democracy, Giving Students a Voice
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to introduce teachers to the importance of teaching students how to access political and inclusive online tools (Digital Democracy Tools) that allows students to exercise public and private policy at the local and national level. Political processes encompass specific rules and laws that need to be observed in order to ensure the legality and implementation of democratic processes. Government is changing the way rules and laws apply online as more people use the internet to exercise democratic processes and politics. As the development of technology skills has become critical for the future employment of today’s labor force, the development of digital democracy tools will become a critical skill for the future development of democracy and politics. Class curriculum should include an emphasis on teaching digital democracy tools among students and disadvantaged populations in order to prevent issues of access and representation.
