Abstract: Mathematically Connected Communities is a partnership of educators including university mathematicians, school administrators, researchers, and mathematics educators across the state of New Mexico. Although we can all agree that technology enhances the professional learning experience, it can be cost-prohibitive. This paper presents an overview of how budget-friendly technology including webinars, video conferencing, online learning communities, and a video library of best practices is used to provide the mathematics education community with innovative and flexible professional learning opportunities. The processes for designing and implementing online learning strategies and techniques will be shared. Also discussed will be issues and solutions, courseware, and lessons learned.
