Abstract: The University of Maine System offers a collaborative MS Ed in Instructional Technology degree that involves faculty from three separate universities. The MS Ed in Instructional Technology includes a number of electives, one of which is EDT 562 Technology for Young Learners. The degree program is designed around five central themes: a) learning environments, b) teaching and learning, c) digital citizenship, d) professional practice, and e) leadership. The Program Vision of the degree is “to help students become leaders in effective and innovative uses of current and emerging technology”. This Brief Paper proposal focuses on the process of creating a course for early childhood professionals in technology within the wider framework of an MS Ed in Instructional Technology.
