Blogging to Influence: Identifying Factors to Fuel Technology Integration

Abstract: The literature presents numerous factors that influence educators to integrate technology in their teaching practice. However, there is a world-wide disappointment on how technology is employed in schools. Within this context, the study examines a different process of identifying the factors that influence educators to integrate technology. The paper acknowledges the great potential of blogging, thus it proposes a methodological approach situated in anchored instruction and situated learning theory. The approach integrates blogs as tools that promote the development of collaborative environment to identify the factors that influence educators integrating technology in their classroom practices. This approach gave voice to educators to highlight several personal and professional factors that would convince them and make them feel comfortable to integrate technology.
