Share Paper: Makerspaces in the Classroom: Integrating Service-Learning Project in a Technology Integration Course

Abstract: This poster will showcase a project that integrated Makerspace activities in a teacher education technology integration course. In collaboration with a local elementary school, preservice teachers get hands-on experience working with elementary school students utilizing maker technologies (e.g., Lego Mindstorm EV3, LittleBits). This poster presentation will share information on the design of the Makerspace activity, experiences with university-school collaboration, and preservice teachers’ reflection on this Makerspace activity.
