Abstract: Online education is an inevitable part of our current educational system. With the goal of breaking down barriers associated with traditional brick and mortar education, online students can access course content from almost any location and explore content in a variety of languages and platforms. Because of its pervasive power, educators would benefit from understanding how design choices affect learning outcomes and student satisfaction. The goal of this paper is to inquire how certain design choices might affect student grades over the course of a semester.
