Abstract: Learning Management System (LMS) are learning platforms within universities in order to enhance teaching and learning For a successful adoption of LMS in institutions, it is necessary to find the determinants that influence the faculty's acceptance of LMS technology in their teaching The modified version of ‘Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology’ (UTAUT2) model by (Venkatesh et al 2012) demonstrates great promise for understanding acceptance of information systems In this study, the UTAUT2 model has been extended with ‘technology awareness’ and ‘racial groups’ Collected data from seven institutions of Saudi Arabia was analyzed with SPSS20/AMOS using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) The results reveal that facilitating condition followed by performance expectancy is the most influencing determinant in the adoption of LMS The results show that technology awareness and racial groups moderate the adoption of LMS The results also prove the validity of the UTAUT2 in non-western countries such as Saudi Arabia This research contributes in proposing an extension of UTAUT2 model with technology awareness and racial groups as moderating variables in LMS adoption in the cultural context of Saudi Arabia It will contribute the policymakers to draft remedial policies against the barriers in the adoption of LMS technology influenced due to cultural and technology unawareness
