Abstract: This paper discusses the adoption and use of social media in Higher Education (HE). The aim of the research reported in this paper was to identify the main factors and problem areas in the use of social media in HE. The Honeycomb model and the theory of external and internal motivation were identified to be suitable underlying theories for this study. In this paper we compare data collected from two universities one from Finland and one from Greece.
