Abstract: A multi-touch table functions as a tablet, but allows multiple children to move around and manipulate the screen simultaneously This study examines the use of multi-touch technology in a preschool classroom over the period of two summers Children were observed and recorded during the summer of 2015 and 2016 for 20 minutes, 3 times a week for five weeks as they manipulated educational and non-educational apps Results indicate that child interaction was collaborative and social when the education apps were in use When children engaged with non-educational apps, behaviors were more solitary with individual children showing greater dominance over play
