Share Paper: Designing Online Learning Environments to Improve Students' Performance in Graduate Statistics Courses

Abstract: Along with rapid development of online learning movement, more attention should be paid to strategic planning for quality online learning programs and courses. The authors proposed a process of designing performance-based online learning environments and provided tools/techniques that can be used to facilitate the process. The authors shared their experiences of applying the introduced process and tools to design effective interventions for improving students’ performance in an online course. Lessons learned from the project and recommendations are provided for future course improvement.
