eLearnReady: Preparing Online Students to Learn Effectively
Abstract: In April 2017, the researchers of this project successfully launched a free student tool, eLearnReady (https://freeelearnreadycom). This system analyzes students’ responses and identifies their strengths and weakness for online learning. Survey results are provided to students along with study tips and videos that demonstrate methods for being a successful online learner Likewise, a course-specific URL may be generated by faculty, to allow for more detailed, class-related metrics of online student readiness to be assessed. To date, more than 3,000 students from multiple colleges/universities have utilized this system since the initial release. Researchers have since been invited to present to several campuses on this project—a one of its’ kind as a free tool. This presentation will introduce how this system was developed, verified, and implemented.
