Abstract: In the rural Midwestern state of South Dakota, students sometimes find it impossible to make meaningful trips to a science center to be engaged with STEM subjects. This paper provides a brief overview of how DSU is bringing science to the students, by modifying existing computer labs into a Gamified Mars Learning Lab that promotes engagement with STEM through the use of a Mars scenario.
