Abstract: The purpose of this research study is to exam the preferences, convenience, and usability of mobile group applications in facilitating and creating an innovative STEM learning community for parents of children aged 2-5 years in a rural North Carolina county. By utilizing this form of mobile group applications, parents will be able to share ideas and communicate updates with the research team and one another. This technology will also serve as a means to document and evaluate parents’ progress with STEM implementation in their home. Today, we are living in an era of rapid technological and digital innovation. Group messaging applications on smartphones have enabled increased social interaction and communication. If successful, this innovation can be utilized to strengthen the STEM learning community amongst parents with children aged 2-5 years in a rural county in North Carolina.
