Abstract: In information technology and teacher education, there was a handful of studies that employed content analysis to examine methodological characteristics of published articles. We conducted a review of quantitative articles published by Educational Technology Research and Development from 2014 to 2018, a total of 198 articles. Research designs and effect size reporting practices demonstrated in these articles were examined. Results showed that the most frequently used research designs in these articles were experimental design and quasi-experiment design.
