Abstract: The newly developed Adaptive Self-regulated Learning Questionnaire (ASRQ) was administered as a pretest and posttest in an undergraduate course equipped with the ALEKS adaptive learning system at a university in the southwestern of the US. This paper intends to discuss the result of administering this self-report questionnaire to measure students’ SRL skills development at the end of the semester compared to the beginning of the semester. The results presented in this paper showed a significant difference between adaptive learning students’ SRL skills in pretest and posttest indicating a significant drop in students’ skills while working with an adaptive learning system. This paper, also, discusses the reasons for this significant drop in students’ SRL skills.
