Abstract: Exponential growth of technology has caused fundamental changes in a way student learn and teachers teach. With the emergent technological tools, transfer of information and construction of knowledge is no longer a one-sided approach where a teacher solely acts as a source of knowledge distribution and students are supposed to absorb the information like a sponge. In the 21st century, the pedagogical practices have shifted from teacher-centered to student-centered, where an increased share of power between students and teacher is evident. Teachers are using emerging technologies to deliver content and assessing the content knowledge by providing various ways. Another aspect is opening learning opportunities for masses by making it more accessible, often free, and flexible for students. However, even having greater access to technology as ever before, the use of technology in K-12 classrooms is somewhat limited. This symposium will explore the usage, challenges, and accessibility of emerging technological pedagogy in K-12 classrooms.
