Abstract: This paper presents multiple theoretical frameworks to better facilitate emergent Hero Journey Stories focusing upon Social Emotional Learning (SEL) constructs with Design Thinking or Journey Maps in an informal learning environment through an Appreciative Inquiry co-design process. The goal of the Service, Teaching, and Research (STaR) collaborative journeys is to uncover fellow faculty members’ sustainable passion projects through shared course learning outcomes toward meaningful and sustainable service projects that integrate technology in outdoor environments. The current model represents reflective refinement from three semesters’ collaborative work.
