Abstract: Synchronous learning environment and strategies support learners’ learning in an online environment. Course webinars provide a synchronous environment supporting learners’ personal dimension of learning through social interaction. It alleviates isolation and encourages learners to communicate, learn together, and build relationships. Enhanced interaction motivates learners to asynchronously work on complex tasks which ease potential frustration in online learners. The theoretical foundation of an integrated framework for this research includes Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge, International Society for Technology in Education Educator Standards resources, and application of classroom technology integration issues. Course webinars also support asynchronous collaborative activities of learners in an online course. Support learners receive at the synchronous sessions reinforcing learners’ cognitive dimension of learning at the asynchronous sessions.
