Abstract: TuneScope (tunescope.org) is a platform developed to introduce coding in the context of music. The structure of TuneScope is designed to support both novices who have limited experience with music and students who may play a musical instrument. An accompanying course, Designing Digital Arts, Animation, and Music, makes use of this platform to introduce novices to coding. The course has been offered at the high school and undergraduate college level with positive results. Outcomes and plans for future development will be discussed.
