Abstract: This best practice session will explore student-centered learning through the intersections of the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and Community of Inquiry (COI) frameworks supported through Instructional Design (ID). We will focus on how we create online learning experiences by presenting two teaching cases that were designed to be accessible, equitable, and culturally responsive, guided by best practices and research, through the application of multiple educational frameworks. The session will be formatted as an interactive guided exploration in which participants will have the opportunity to engage with and discuss specific examples of how to contend with multiple frameworks to design, structure, and facilitate online learning that addresses and supports best practices in accessible, equitable, and inclusive online learning experiences.
