Reimagining Learning in Virtual Spaces: Bridging the Gap Between Theory and Practice
Full Paper (Live Virtual)
ID: 61149
Abstract: A fellowship of seven educators from five different countries explore their lived experiences designing virtual spaces for learning following a human-design centered approach. The designs focused on promoting engagement, accessibility, inclusion, collaboration and problem-solving by framing avatar-based virtual spaces as multimodal, distributed texts thus providing learners with opportunities to enact multiple literacies. The tenets that supported this community of educators, the design frame followed, and the virtual spaces that were developed during this process were examined.
