Path to Sustainability in Online Learning Design
As we continually strive towards quality of teaching and learning at our Institute, we support innovative technology-driven delivery models designed to create engaging learning environments that prepare our graduates for practice (career readiness). As part of the best practices presentation, we would like to showcase the learning design behind a program from the School of Health Sciences at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. We will share the lessons learned along the way, as we experimented with new technologies and approaches for the implementation of online learning. Furthermore, the presentation will address how our project management framework enabled us to focus on innovation and educational integrity of elearning tools for one program while paving the way for future online development, through the creation of re-usable learning objects, the establishment of a learning object repository, and the use of a sustainable design/development process.
