Canada - Waterloo

I am Acting Associate Dean in a Faculty of Education teaching pre-service and graduate courses. My research centres around learning to teach in a digital world.

Biography

I have been a full-time faculty member in the Faculty of Education at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada for the past 7 years. Prior to my graduate work I was an elementary teacher teaching Kindergarten to Grade Six, specializing in Health and Physical Education.
Currently, I am Acting Associate Dean with course release to support our faculty in the integration of digital technologies across our program.
I teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in Learning and Child Development, Health and Physical Education, and the Integration of Technology, Pedagogy and Content. I am finishing up a SSHRC grant resulting in a Problem-Solving Model of technology integration and developing effective, learning outcome-based strategies for capitalizing on the potential of technology for learning and instruction. My most current research includes a grant application to evaluate problem-solving ability in learners using computational thinking across disciplines. Exciting times!
