Biography
I joined academia after twenty-two years of experience in new product design and development. Eleven years of which I owned and operated a full-service product design and development consulting firm. My clients included Kodak, Fisher-Price, Federal Express, Motorola, AT&T, Xerox, Olivetti, and Hewlett-Packard, to name a few. For the last fifteen years I have worked as a professor of Industrial Design at Brigham Young University, ten years as the program chair. My research interest is in the area of "design thinking" including the three cognitive modes of creative, visual and adaptive thinking. I have presented numerous papers on the subject of creativity, innovation, and design thinking all over the world.
