Biography

Tanya Morret is an Educational Consultant with the Capital Area Intermediate Unit and for the PA Department of Education (PDE). Prior to her role as gifted liaison, Tanya worked as a middle school social studies/gifted support teacher for 15 years, twelve of which were spent providing direct service to gifted students in grades 4 through 8. Currently, Tanya works as a Gifted Liaison for PDE schools to re-affirm the state’s commitment to gifted education. She holds a Masters in Gifted Education from Millersville University and is a doctoral candidate at Indiana University of PA in Curriculum and Instruction. She is the program manager and an instructor for the Gifted Endorsement Program offered by a Consortium of PA Intermediate Units. As a professional staff developer, she has presented on a wide range of topics, including Gifted Education, Differentiation for the Advanced Learner, Research Based Effective Instructional Practices, Acceleration, and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
