This Special Interest Group of AACE SITE is concerned with geospatial technologies used in teacher education. Geospatial technologies may include any technology that is sensitive to location, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), digital globes, remote sensing, online maps, GPS, etc. Educational geocaching, Google Earth, ArcGIS Online, mobile geo, and spatial analysis on are trending in this SIG.
In our last SIG meeting (3/19/14), Tom Baker was re-elected as SIG Chair. Liz Langran was re-set as Associate SIG Chair however later that week she was elected to the Associate Chair of the Teacher Education Council and must resign her Geospatial SIG position. At the moment, the Associate Chair of the Geospatial Education SIG remains open.
